i think i’m safe in saying that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was a pretty terrible movie. there were, however, a few scenes that were filmed in our old neighborhood in Los Angeles that i took some screenshots of during my first and only time watching it. the screenshots sat unseen and unused until yesterday when i realized that i recognized more than just the locale.

you’re looking at the very same Hudson Eight convertible that i posted about last year. this one:

sorry to everyone that thought this post was going to be more interesting.

WHERE’S SILLY?  11.27.2010

this is stupid, but i’m wearing sweatpants right now that i picked up for cheap at a big box store near Beka’s mom’s house yesterday. it’s been a long time since i’ve owned sweatpants but i used to wear them pretty much everyday before i fully grasped the concept of shame sometime during primary school.

anyway, i feel like a complete fool.

MARVIN THE PRINCESS  11.26.2010

its easy to dramatically underestimate the amount of energy required to keep up with a four year-old if you don’t have children. fortunately, it’s also extremely easy to simply hand her back to her dad.

ha!

it’s sad to think that Valentino Rossi (the subject of today’s photo) will never be seen riding a Yamaha YZR-M1 again. it’s the end of an era, really.

DIAMOND ISLAND  11.22.2010

a stampede in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh has killed hundreds of people during the final day of Bon Om Thook, the Khmer Water Festival. please pray for them.

as i was nearing my exit off Lake Shore Drive the other day, i saw flashing blue lights ahead of a growing sea of taillights. inching closer, i noticed not only that the (minor) accident took place at my exit, but that it had involved an otherwise pristine Porsche 928 being rear-ended by a great ogre of a minivan. these are terrible times.
