i hopped on a bus today that had a broken door. they would open a little bit and stop which would then prompt the driver to breathe a heavy sigh, get up out of his seat, and violently kick them open.
and we almost nailed some poor guy in the face who was standing too close!

if scientists study geological history by boring through earth, one must then assume that the amount of sedimentary layers increases over time. if that’s so, then does that mean that our planet is slowly expanding and therefore increasing its gravitational pull?
and, more importantly, does that mean i’m finally gaining weight?
i posted my one thousandth photograph today, a portrait of a shopkeeper we met in Kabul.

i recently watched Ghostbusters for the first time since i was a kid and it was a lot edgier than i remember. i’m guessing it was partially because i didn’t understand a lot of the dialogue back then and also because the version i saw was recorded from network television back in the 80’s.

i watched a car get towed today because the owner parked it in a space that belonged to someone else and it was extremely gratifying.
one thing i’ve always liked about Seinfeld was that there was no title sequence to speak of. it started when it started and the most we ever had to deal with were some names at the bottom of the screen and a few catchy bass riffs.
man, i miss that show.

my ‘nohari window’
edit: it has been brought to my attention that there is a ‘johari window’ for someone called ivanlo.
this is not me. thanks.
my brother took me for a spin on his Honda CBR929RR today and gave me a taste of the barbaric rate of acceleration that motorcycles of such calibre are capable of.
i think i swore in several languages and, at one point, vowed to slay my brother as soon as i was free of the machine but it’s hard to say what exactly went through my mind as i was too preoccupied with not falling off the bike, trying to breathe, and keeping my internal organs internal. by the time i climbed off, my glasses felt like they were pressed flush against my face, my hair was bathed in chaos, and my arms felt like they were on fire.
it was disturbingly enjoyable.
according to wikipedia, there’s a church in Barcelona whose construction began in the 1880’s and is now expected to be finished in the 2020’s.
