FROM THE PAST 01.01.02
last night was a blast at Jono/Jerry’s house…i think we had almost 30 people there and had everything from GT3 on the bigscreen to steaks on the grill (much thanks to our cooks for the night Jono and ‘big mama’ AKA jwang07). as the night went on we began to form little subgroups: the video-game freaks playing PS2 in the family room, the guitar players honing their skills in the living rooms, bored people surfing online in the den and small scattered groups of people in deep conversation. me? i just kinda drifted around…most of the time drifting back and forth from the guitar area and the computer and occasionally stopping by the PS2 when they popped in GT3. when the time was almost near, we all went outside and used a car radio to count down to 2002. when the big 3-2-1 ended we all shouted while Jono popped open some sparkling grape juice and started spraying it around. (Mandy suggested earlier that we make snow angels…but alas, snow there is not). so after that, we all went back inside and resumed our activities until we left. yep.
well anyways …a year has come and gone. i hope all of you have had a memorable 2001…one that’s not filled with disappointment and failures. *ahem* anyways…happy new year to all and i hope you made some resolutions…here are some of mine:
- to be going through a busy intersection and throw a car into a drift without hitting anything
- to toughen the skin on my hands so i can practice throwing my butterfly knife around without worrying about catching the blade
- to be able to play guitar and win a race in GT2 at the same time
- to eat more than seven saltines per minute
well…as you may have noticed (and if you haven’t, now would be a good time to slap yourself in the forehead), these aren’t really my new year resolutions. however, if you’re suddenly filled with the morbid desire to find out what they really are, ask me and i’ll tell you (or ignore you…depends on my mood).
